Drowning in Marriage

[Upcoming marriage-and-romance novel: A Spoiled Marriage] [Weibo: @Chu Xun-] Shi Zhi never imagined she’d marry her ex-boyfriend, Zhou Xiujin. The man had taken off his usual white coat and now stood before her in a perfectly tailored suit, refined and elegant. Thinking of how she had once gotten tired of his tenderness and dumped him with a flimsy excuse, Shi Zhi couldn’t help swallowing nervously. Zhou Xiujin recalled her reason for breaking up with him and asked with a low laugh, “Zhi Zhi, didn’t the fortune-teller say we’d never make it to the altar?” Shi Zhi: “…” After they married, Zhou Xiujin was still as tender as ever. One day, a student from the research institute came by to pick up some documents. Zhou Xiujin gently reminded them again and again, “Your professor’s wife is timid. Be quiet when you go in, and don’t scare her.” The student took his words to heart, only to arrive at the professor’s home and find a whole crowd throwing a party. The supposedly timid professor’s wife was having the most fun of anyone there. The student: “…” Zhou Xiujin had always thought his wife was a delicate, sweet little flower, until he caught her dancing at a club. He walked toward her slowly, one step at a time. A friend tried to stop him. “You’re a married man…” Then the girl beside him called out in a soft, timid voice, “Hu… husband.” Their lips were almost touching. Zhou Xiujin gripped her slender waist and asked in a low voice, “Mrs. Zhou, having fun?” ** When they got home, Shi Zhi let loose and admitted, “I’m not gentle, and I don’t like gentle men.” The man loosened his tie. “Good. I’m tired of pretending, too.” “?” ** So my wife isn’t a sweet little flower. Why should I keep pretending to be a gentle gentleman?
