Weren't I Supposed to Be the Perennial Supporting Girl?

Completed // As the beloved legitimate daughter of the Marquis Weiyuan's household, Gu Weiran's life should have been smooth and blessed with favor. But after narrowly surviving a serious illness as a child, she learned that she was living inside a book, as a minor character who was barely mentioned before dying young. Her powerful will to survive led Gu Weiran to decide to take the villainess's role: the "vicious supporting female character who appears throughout the entire book, keeps making trouble for the heroine even in old age, and gets face-slapped over and over." The wicked live long, so at least she could make it through a whole lifetime. Gu Weiran diligently played the villainess, perfectly setting off the heroine's pure, frail, innocent, kindhearted nature. She also successfully avoided becoming a minor character who was barely mentioned before dying young. The Crown Prince, who was fated to die young, proposed to her. She remembered that the Crown Princess was a supporting character who would "spend decades as a widow before the wedding," and immediately decided: I'll take that role. I'm going to live for decades! But a year passed, and the Crown Prince was still alive. He married her. Two years passed, and the Crown Prince was still alive. He ascended the throne. Three years passed... When the hero and heroine both knelt before her, crying, "Long live the Empress!" she thought, This plot seems a little off... The transmigrated heroine, who had endured most of the book's frustrations and nearly choked on her anger, waiting to ascend to the throne and finally have her revenge, burst into tears: I think so too...
