Prime Minister, Come Here

Li Xu: "Prime Minister, come here. I want to ask if you'd like a promotion."

Mu Yan looked completely baffled. "Your Majesty, are you planning to abdicate in favor of someone more worthy?"

Li Xu: "What do you mean?"

Mu Yan hesitated, then said, "The Prime Minister is already head of all the officials. The next promotion would make him emperor..."

His voice grew quieter and quieter.

Li Xu froze, then pretended to be angry. "How dare you rebel against your sovereign and plot treason!"

Mu Yan dropped to his knees in fright. "Spare my life, Your Majesty. This humble official wouldn't dare."

Li Xu tossed Mu Yan an imperial decree. "Take this. It's yours. Pack your things and move to Zhangyang Hall within three days. Otherwise, the first prime minister of our dynasty will be executed along with his entire family for treason."

The man who was apparently the first prime minister of the dynasty read the decree and said, "Damn it, the Empress..."
