A Heart-Pounding Romance: Raising a Star to Glory

(You hesitate for a moment, staring at the pink icon on your desktop, then click it.) Since it's a single-player game, there's no login screen. The simple opening animation is a very unfair collection of photos of all 24 real-life stars and the characters they play. The background music is the opening theme from Glory, along with a line from each star: "I like you." Their tones are subtly different, but you could never mistake one for another, even with your eyes closed. After the opening, the game officially begins. First, you have to choose your name. (You try entering "Ye Xiu.") The System rejects the name, with the reason: It conflicts with a name already in the System. (You try entering "Ye Buxiu" instead.) This time, the System accepts it, then asks: Are you sure you want to be called "Ye Buxiu"? [Yes]/[No] (You think it over. The others would be fine, but having Ye Xiu repeatedly say "Ye Buxiu, I like you" would be unbearably awkward, so you instinctively click [No]. The other names feel out of place, too. You figure that since it's a single-player game and nobody else will see it, you might as well enter your real name. A little private Mary Sue fantasy won't hurt. So you lightly tap the keyboard and enter your real name: Liu Anna.) The game begins. Choose your starting location: [H City] [S City] [Q City] [M City] [G City]... (You hesitate for a moment, then choose the first option on the list: [H City].) [Progress saved automatically]
