Zuo Si was reading the newspaper on the sofa when his son's kindergarten teacher called to say that Zuo Xiaochen had hit a classmate!

Zuo Si hung up and called out to little Zuo Xiaochen, who was practicing drums in the music room. "Xiaochen, come here."

Zuo Xiaochen came running out. The five-year-old had soft, rosy skin and a chubby face with a pair of bright, black-bean eyes. His features were lovely, thanks to the good genes he inherited from Zuo Si and Gu Chenchen.

"Daddy, did you want me?" Zuo Xiaochen tilted his head and looked at Zuo Si in his babyish voice.

Zuo Si's voice grew stern. "Why did you hit your classmate?"

Zuo Xiaochen's bright eyes darted around as he clenched his chubby little fists. "Because he deserved it!"

Zuo Si raised an eyebrow, his gaze sharp. "Oh?"

Zuo Xiaochen pursed his rosy lips and argued his case. "He was bullying a girl!"

Zuo Si's expression softened. His son was just like him, already a little protector at such a young age! He picked Zuo Xiaochen up and sat him on his lap, his voice gentler now. "What's the girl's name?"

Held so tenderly by his father, Zuo Xiaochen rested his little head against his chest, as docile as a kitten. "Wu Mengmeng."

Well, it looked like he should start building a good relationship with the Wu family early, instead of letting things drag on for twenty years like he and Chenchen had before finally finding each other.
