[Reborn!] Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween You might fall in love with someone in an instant, but that love can last forever. And so, through the long years, as you look back on every little moment of love and romance, the Halloween jack-o'-lantern seems harder to give up than the glass slipper. "Trick or treat?" "Sawada-senpai! Please marry me!" "I've never thought of you as a nuisance." "I love you." "I do." Time turns back to that night beneath a sky full of bright stars. Orange lamplight wraps around the sweetness of candy, illuminating your whole world. --"...Could you spare me some candy, Miss Witch?" --"I'm glad I could help, Mr. Vampire." That late autumn, when you were nineteen, you met the love of your life at the Halloween celebration, your first love at first sight. That was the beginning of the beautiful love that would bind you together for a lifetime. Say it loud: love! A friendly note: This story was written for Halloween 2016. It's mostly sweet, with a little bittersweet angst. This is my first attempt at writing in the second person and writing a short story, so please bear with me if it feels a little unfamiliar. Each chapter is a very short scene, and the story as a whole won't be long. It has a happy ending, so feel free to dive in. --Dedicated to "you," who still believe in fairy tales and miracles, and keep striving to grow and become a better person.
