I'm Really Not Tasty!

Xu Yu transmigrates to the interstellar era, becomes a little mermaid, and is about to be assigned to the empire's tyrant. On their first day as newlyweds, the tyrant holds him in his arms all night. A month into the marriage, Xu Yu, who's had no appetite, secretly realizes he might be carrying the tyrant's child?! You should know that the tyrant, Zhou Shizhen, is cold-hearted, cruel, and bloodthirsty. He kills people as easily as chopping vegetables. Xu Yu doesn't dare make a move. He decides to lie low with a baby in his belly. Staying alive comes first. But the tyrant won't even let him do that. He orders the imperial chefs to prepare an entire fish feast for him! What is the tyrant planning? Is wife-killing for the path to immortality popular in the interstellar era too?! Xu Yu is terrified. He clutches his tail and stares at the seafood feast before him, close to tears. "Um... My skin is tough and my scales are harder than steel! I really don't taste good!" Besides! Even a tiger doesn't eat its own cubs, Your Majesty! Zhou Shizhen: ? A little mermaid has arrived at the palace. He has a shining golden tail, and when he smiles, he looks like a pearl in the deep sea. He is the little queen personally chosen by His Majesty. Sadly, no one has faith in this marriage. "Mermaids are the only species in the entire galaxy that hasn't evolved a mating season. They've been abandoned by the gods!" "They're difficult to reproduce and terribly boring. They could never satisfy His Majesty." "I bet he won't last a month before the emperor drives him mad!" The whole galaxy waits for the day the imperial couple's marriage falls apart. Until one day, an interstellar gossip rag mysteriously publishes a headline: Shocking! Emperor Zhou Shizhen and his mermaid queen spotted at a prenatal checkup, looking very much in love on camera! The whole galaxy: ? Wait, what? The emperor and empress still haven't split up today?! * Mermaids are deep-sea demons who often feed on giant sea beasts. * Later-born mermaids have no mating season and very low fertility. Naturally born mermaids are the exception. * Legend has it that naturally born mermaids are extinct. [Sweet romance, doted-on protagonist, and pregnancy-and-childrearing story, my style.] Theme: If you can't change the past, work hard to change the future.
