Dawn and Dusk

Wen Lan has been in love with someone for over a decade. They've been together day and night, but he still doesn't dare confess. There's no helping it. His beloved is just too outstanding. His admirers line up all the way to the city gates, and every one of them is better than him, a man who can barely walk without a limp. Forget it, Wen Lan thinks. He'll keep it to himself for now. Familial love and friendship are love too. He'll make the most of each day he gets. Shen Zhuo has an obsession buried deep in his heart. It seems close enough to touch, yet in truth it's like a palace in the clouds, impossibly far away. Shen Zhuo wants to be good to him, but that person always manages to be even better to him. Then, with a gentle smile in his eyes, he says tenderly: Chong Shang, I've always thought of you as my own little brother. Shen Zhuo: ... Heh. Shen Zhuo keeps his composure, silently adding the new "little brother card" Wen Lan has just given him to the little notebook in his heart. That's number 378 already. Truly tragic. Later, Wen Lan is pinned beneath the person he loves, kissed until he can hardly breathe. Shen Zhuo still refuses to let him go, nibbling his earlobe as he asks, "Who am I to you?" * The dynasty is fictional, and its rules wouldn't survive the first episode of a palace-intrigue drama, so many things definitely won't follow proper etiquette.
