[Battle of the Brains] We Were Just Too Young Back Then

Set in the world of the 2006 film Akeelah and the Bee. I wonder how many people have seen it. The pairing is Dylan and an original female lead. She's a gorgeous blonde with wavy hair; you can picture her like Hermione from Harry Potter. The heroine meets Dylan when he enters his first competition, two years before Akeelah appears. I've changed the ending to a happy one, a happy one, a happy one! Repeating it three times because it's important. Dylan was only ten at the time, and he's Chinese in this version, so what is this, dating at such a young age? That's wrong! It was originally meant to have a tragic ending, but a reader asked me to write more, so I changed it to a happy ending. The later parts are a little bland and boring, so feel free to share your thoughts or ideas. It's complete now. Theme:
