One day in the 22nd century, Earth underwent a massive transformation for reasons unknown, becoming a game battlefield. Every city was divided into its own independent battlefield, each with a different setting. The Biohazard Battlefield, for example, was filled with bioengineered humans and mutant monsters, while the Insect Swarm Battlefield was crawling with all kinds of giant insect monsters, and the Demon Realm Battlefield was full of demons.
As a university student, Li Xi was suddenly caught up in this world-changing event. With survival as her only concern, she set out to grow stronger.
But why was there always a cold, aloof woman standing in her way, trying to lure her back?
To avoid being lured away by this wicked woman, she could only run as far away as possible, but she kept getting caught again and again.
In this strange apocalypse, Li Xi had always diligently fought monsters, farmed experience, and collected gear. One day, she happened to see a cool, aloof woman get the piece of gear she'd been wanting for ages. In a moment of greed, she snuck up and stole the woman's stuff, then made a clean getaway. The strange thing was, from then on, she kept running into that woman, who was always giving her gear, quest scrolls, and special items. Li Xi began to think there was something very odd about her.
Later, she realized that the woman's gaze seemed a little off. For the sake of her personal safety, she decided to run. But she failed every time. The woman could always catch up to her, follow her, and no matter what Li Xi did, she couldn't shake her.
Later still, Li Xi was cornered against a wall. The woman before her was as cool and aloof as ever, but she looked somewhat exasperated and at the end of her patience.
"Little wildcat, how long are you going to keep running? Am I really that scary?"
"Who's running?! I'm not running! I'm not scared of you at all!" Li Xi snapped, refusing to back down.
"If that's the case, then come with me." The woman curled her lips in a faint smile, grabbed Li Xi by the back of her collar, and hauled her home.
At first:
Li Xi: Damn it! You again! I run into you everywhere I go. Could you stop following me all the time?
Wicked woman: No.
Later:
Li Xi: Where are you going?
Wicked woman: I'm going on a mission.
Li Xi: Take me with you! Let's go together! Don't leave me behind.
Li Xi: This is great!
