Football Captain

At that World Cup, he played through an injured leg, carrying the dreams of an entire nation on his own. That lonely silhouette wearing number seven would become an abiding heartache for people everywhere.

How I wish there had been someone like that, someone who could stay by Cristiano's side, give him love, support, and encouragement, and be there when he lifted the World Cup trophy, so the world would finally recognize his hard work, his childlike innocence, and his greatness.

In the end, we never found that person. The lonely CR7 still fights for Portugal. So I created Little Butterfly.

Dedicated to the best: Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro.

A few things to know before reading:

① The story of the genius player Butterfly growing up, and a dream come true for the author.

② The author is a CR7 fan. I won't bash Messi, but I will put him through the wringer, since there's only one Ballon d'Or.

③ Some match details differ from reality. Feel free to point out any technical errors.

④ The original concept for *[Football] A Summer's Tale* is in my author's collection.
