A Wide River and White Geese

This story is also known as "After Awakening as a Nonhuman, My Childhood Friend, the Campus Hunk, and I Finally Became Friends" Yanye and Tan Yue first met on the river outside their home. Her cousin was rowing a small boat and taking her along to gather water caltrops. Yanye wasn't paying attention and fell out of the boat. Her cousin was just about to call for help when a figure leaped down from the south bank and sped over. In no time, her little cousin had been pulled to shore by the neck. Yanye and Tan Yue met for the second time at school. She was the class monitor, he was a transfer student, and they were both in second grade. From second grade through senior year, Yanye had a crush on Tan Yue for a full ten years. Tan Yue, meanwhile, had been making friends since second grade. In those ten years, Tan Yue made at least ten best friends, but never once agreed to Yanye's request to be friends. Sometimes Yanye would ask herself what she liked about this cold-hearted boy. After thinking it over, maybe it was simply because he was handsome! So after awakening as a nonhuman, Yanye made her childhood friend, the campus hunk who had always turned her down, accept her friend request. In the year 2025 of the Star Calendar, a strange dimension known as the "Nightmare" descended upon the world. Countless people were pulled into the "Nightmare" in their sleep and silently lost their lives. Only after painstaking research by scientists and mystics was the origin of the "Nightmare Space" identified. Then, after the tireless efforts of countless "Sleepless Ones," the "Nightmare Source" was finally sealed inside a dungeon with an extremely low danger rating. Tan Yue was sent into the dungeon as an observer to monitor the "Nightmare Source." He thought it would be an easy, well-paid job, but who could have expected so many unforeseen complications? In a nutshell: For the heroine, it's a sweet campus romance; for the hero, it's a fight for survival in a dungeon. Theme: An optimistic, positive attitude toward life.
