A person's soul isn't just one whole. It is made up of two parts: the spirit and the soul. Jian Ran was in a car accident on her way home late one night. Her body fell into a deep sleep, and she became a drifting spirit. To survive, she found her spirit guide: Su Jingxuan. It took her a long time to understand that love and survival had always been one and the same. Everyone is alone in this world. Wouldn't you hope to meet someone who could lead you out of the wilderness, across mountains and seas, and wait with you for spring to finally arrive?
One
Su Jingxuan noticed that An Ruo covered her eyes with her hand as soon as she got out of the car, looking a little uncomfortable.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't really like the sun," An Ruo replied in a muffled voice.
Seeing that she didn't seem to be in any serious trouble, Su Jingxuan teased her. "You're not a vampire. Are you afraid of the light?"
"If I were a vampire, you'd be the first person I'd drink dry," An Ruo answered quietly.
Su Jingxuan pretended he hadn't heard her. "Hmm... what did you say?"
"Nothing. I said we should hurry inside." But she was thinking: A spirit under someone else's roof has to keep its head down.
Every story has a miserable assistant
Gu Yi carried the lunch he'd brought for Su Jingxuan and felt that his boss was acting strange. During a meeting, even though the weather wasn't particularly hot, he'd turned the air conditioning up to 27 degrees. Several department heads were sweating, but none of them dared say anything. Meanwhile, his boss was holding a cup of hot water, as if... warming his hands. No matter how busy he was, he usually went out to eat, but today he'd asked Gu Yi to bring him lunch. Unable to figure it out, Gu Yi knocked on the door. "Boss, your lunch is here."
"Come in." Gu Yi entered, only to see a pen suspended in midair. He froze in fright. "Boss... the pen... the pen!"
Only then did An Ruo realize what had happened. Su Jingxuan had given her a pen to play with, and she'd been holding it without remembering to put it down. She quickly placed it in Su Jingxuan's hand.
Su Jingxuan picked up the pen and asked, "What's wrong with the pen?"
Gu Yi rubbed his eyes. The pen was no longer floating in midair. Had he imagined it? He must have gotten too carried away playing last night, he reassured himself. His eyes were just playing tricks on him, that's all.
Seeing Gu Yi muttering to himself, Su Jingxuan held back a laugh. "Put the food down and go."
"Oh, right." Gu Yi finally came to his senses. He brought the food over, set it down, and left.
