[The Five Rats Stir Up the Capital] [Cat and Mouse] A Silk-Tugging Play (Alternate Universe)

A cat-and-mouse fan MV for the TV series The Five Mice Make Trouble in Tokyo, with an accompanying story of the same name, "Puppet Strings." First posted on the Zhan Bai forum on Baidu Tieba: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4416444956 (March 1 to September 4, 2016) The "Puppet Strings" video thread: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4411825698 I didn't feel much the first time I watched this MV. The more I watched it, the more heartbreaking it seemed. Then I started imagining scenes along with the plot and couldn't stop crying, so I decided to write this story. My respects to Wujiu! To avoid clashing with the spirit of virtuous rulers, worthy ministers, and righteous heroes expressed in The Seven Heroes and Five Gallants, this story is set in a partially fictionalized world, with a backdrop resembling times of chaos. The characters behave more like bandits. Lord Bao and the Kaifeng Prefecture are assumed not to exist, and the Four Mice and the emperor do not appear. Shen Zhongyuan borrows the face of Zhan Zhao from the show and has absolutely nothing to do with the original novel. Any references to the original will be marked where they appear. I'll try to keep the main plot as close to the MV as possible, but since writing isn't restricted by camera shots, some scenes may differ slightly. It's all to get the cat and mouse together, so please don't nitpick. P.S. My writing is terrible (I'm not being modest), there are no descriptions of the setting or appearances (because I can't write them), and it's in first person. Read at your own risk! I recommend watching the MV before reading for a stronger sense of the visuals. If you read the story directly, the alternate characterizations may make things feel a little out of character. Theme:
