A Fair Redemption

[A product of moral dilemmas] [Amateur writing, set in Italy, insufficient research] [The protagonist once had a wife. If you can't accept that, please move along.] This is a melodramatic story sparked by a case. "Why were you sent to prison?" "...Theft." A seemingly fair deal, and the salvation of two people. "I don't understand why you chose me." "Apart from you, no one in Italy sees Diwar as an enemy like I do." It has nothing to do with love, responsibility, or anything else, until... the truth is laid bare. "One last time." "We still have a long way to go." This is an ordinary story about an Italian police officer and a down-and-out painter.
