Major OOC warning
Blurb + reading guide + heroine profile
★ Blurb
From the moment she was born, she was destined to be a child who couldn't bask in the sunlight like everyone else.
There was nothing she could do about it, and in time she got used to it.
Just when she thought she was destined to have only the moonlight for company, that boy took her hand and gave her a smile brighter than the sun.
“Good morning!”
In that instant, she knew that a new sun had risen in her world.
And moonlight is always gentle. Though it constantly changes, it is still intoxicating. Sometimes unreasonable, yet careful and tender, as if someone had covered her eyes from behind.
“Don't go.”
So she couldn't bring herself to hate it. Though she longed for the sunlight, the moonlit night remained her refuge.
★ Reading Guide
1. The aim is a long original-character romance story. Chapter lengths vary, but there should be plenty to read.
2. There are too many stories in progress, so updates depend on fate.
3. I love revising old chapters. After one revision, I keep revising them, so when details conflict, go by the latest version.
4. The heroine will be very Mary Sue. For anything science can't explain, just chalk it up to anime logic.
5. The style is mostly serious, with a sugary-sweet progression. It's sweet, but basically fluffy.
6. Pairings and ending are undecided. There may be branches, though the main route will probably follow both the sun and moon.
7. If more odds and ends need explaining later, I'll keep updating this post. Check back now and then; there might be a surprise.
★ Heroine Profile
Name: Wendy
Nationality: Chinese
Birthday: World Earth Day
Age: Born one year after Hinata and the others
Height: Work it out from the height difference between her and Tsukishima in the main story.
Weight: Close to Yachi's, but it varies a lot depending on how much she's eaten.
Favorite foods: Bread, and Western-style sweets like cakes without cream.
Recent worries: Snow Hill is too far from home, and Karasuno is too far from home too.
Overall ability chart (volleyball only): Technique is 2, brains are 2, and everything else is 1.
Her mother is Chinese, her father is of mixed Chinese and Japanese heritage, and her late grandfather was Japanese. Her hometown in China is unspecified, so readers can choose a location for themselves. They moved when she was in elementary school in search of a better environment. She now lives in Japan, in the house where her grandfather used to live, close to Hinata's home. Her father works in China and her mother works in Japan. Because they are often away for work, she openly goes to the Hinata home for meals. She can barely handle a kitchen knife, so she only cooks for herself once in a while, and it tastes all right.
Since her name is the same as the English name “Wendy,” people have called her all sorts of things her whole life, and most people don't know which language they're using when they say it. She has albinism, but surprisingly dark eyes, and her eyesight isn't too bad. She has never cut her hair except for her bangs, so it reaches past her knees and almost down to her ankles. She usually ties it into a ponytail by folding it over several times, so people can't tell how long it really is. Because of her appearance, people think she's a foreigner, but few guess correctly that she's Chinese.
At home, she received a strict Chinese-style education and gets excellent grades. Since she generally can't do outdoor activities, she's terrible at sports. When she goes out, she carries a small shoulder bag with a parasol, sunscreen, an eye mask, eye drops, and sunglasses. Since sunglasses make it hard to see where she's going, she doesn't like wearing them unless the sun is strong. She wears sun-protective clothing, white tights with short skirts, and mostly long skirts in her everyday wardrobe.
Main relationships:
Shoyo Hinata: childhood friend
Kei Tsukishima: They've slept together
Hinata calls her “Wendy,” with a pronunciation closer to the English one and an added “-chan” sound, though it won't appear in the story's narration. Wendy calls him “Sho.”
Tsukishima calls her “Wen,” closer to the Chinese pronunciation, but usually avoids using her name because he finds it awkward to pronounce. Wendy calls him “Tsuki,” sometimes “Kei,” and very rarely uses a different pronunciation of “Kei” on purpose.
This section will probably keep getting updated.
Pretending I posted this late at night so no one will see me.
Premise: A Mary Sue original heroine power fantasy.
