Who Pities the Beauty in the Moonlit Courtyard? - Sequel to The Disguiser

This is a sequel I wrote for Ming Lou, the eldest brother in The Disguiser, because I love him so much. He is the Viper of the Shanghai Station of the Military Statistics Bureau, and also the Cobra of the Shanghai Station of the [redacted]. He is such a devoted patriot fighting the Japanese. Yet, to conceal his true identity and infiltrate the enemy's ranks, he took on the identity known to the world: deputy director of the Secret Service Committee of the New Government, a traitor to his country. I remember one thing he said that I have never been able to forget. While he and his comrade were making their final plans, his comrade asked, "You must be in a lot of pain, aren't you?" He replied, "Yes." All he wanted then was for someone to expose his true identity and tell the world that he, Ming Lou, was no traitor, but a Chinese patriot fighting the Japanese. He bore so much, and the image of him as a resolute man will never fade from my heart. If I could be sent back to the Republic of China era and meet a man like Ming Lou, so deep, calm, and devoted to his country and family, I would hold him close and let him cry on my shoulder.
