A Husband's Handbook

Blurb -> A feel-good farming story about using a golden finger to build wealth and reach prosperity, with some comeuppance for awful relatives along the way~ Xia Lin wakes up one day to find himself as another man's husband, brought in as a groom to bring good luck. Worst of all, he's turned into an ugly guy with a face full of pockmarks! He figures marrying a man is already a hard enough lot, but after he finally gets their life on track, someone tells him to give up his place as the Li family's eldest young madam! What? You want me to follow the Three Obediences and Four Virtues and step aside because my husband needs an heir? Why would I give up being a wife to become a concubine?! To hell with the Three Obediences and Four Virtues! No matter how high an official Li Cheng becomes, I'm still the one he married properly: me, Xia Lin! Those simpering women can forget about taking my place as his principal wife. They won't even get to be concubines! They won't get through the door, or even the window! Li Cheng thinks that, sickly as he is, he won't live to see twenty. But ever since he got married, his health has been improving day by day. Everyone says the husband brought in to bring him good luck is an ugly man, but Li Cheng thinks his A-Lin is lovely, kindhearted, clever, and capable. He must have done good deeds in a past life to marry such a wonderful wife! So what if he has pockmarks? Anyone can get sick! We just built a new house, and now all the relatives who never used to visit have shown up. One wants to foist someone on us, another wants to send someone over. They just have to ruin our marriage! A-Lin is right. These people just can't stand to see us doing well! Wait... hold on, A-Lin, why is your face slowly clearing up? You're so handsome now. What if someone tries to steal you away? Quick, stick those pockmarks back on!
