The Young Phoenix Returns

Her grandfather had once served as the current emperor's tutor. After resigning from office, he became the head of Jiangnan's most prestigious academy. Her grandmother was the daughter of Jiangnan's foremost clan. Her father was the current Crown Prince's tutor, and her aunt was the empress, who adored her and had all but openly declared that she would be the next Crown Princess. Xie Qingci had held a winning hand from the day she was born.

The only problem was that her winning hand was up against a hopeless game that made everyone shake their heads.

Xie Qingci always sat steady at the chessboard. The only unexpected turn was when the person she'd always treated as a younger brother and little uncle took her by force as his bride. On the day he first ascended the throne, before all the civil and military officials, he held a knife to his own neck, his eyes stubborn to the point of madness. "Marry me, or we both die. You choose."

Actually, I think I might like you too...

Well, this is a delightfully indulgent story of household and palace intrigue, family life, and all kinds of sweet, satisfying fun. I'll write at my own pace, and you can read at yours. =v=
