Shadow Guards, Assassins, Retainers, Bodyguards, and Killer Protectors
Just what it says. The ratings are shown by yellow stars. If I especially like something, I’ll manually add ★ (1–3) in the description.
Books I've Finished
When will the collection limit go up?
Loyal Shadow Guards/Danmei with Ancient-to-Modern Transmigration or Rebirth
Delicious treats, for revisiting regularly
Novels Set in Ancient Times
Ancient-setting stories, including historical fiction, alternate history, and wuxia. Plot-focused, with farming and development, construction, mystery, war, jianghu stories, and more
Reading Log
I like reading about pampered, self-indulgent shou and spoiled gong, with the gong showering the shou with affection and the shou doting on the gong nonstop. The couple must be 100% mutually devoted! I hate love-triangle stories where readers have to pick a ship!
Books Worth Following
I've removed everything that doesn't need following, so what's left is worth following (cheerfully). I haven't had time to read lately, so I haven't checked the new additions. Can't guarantee the quality going forward.
Danmei (XP Edition)
I'm a die-hard protagonist fan. As the saying goes, loyal dogs have three great qualities: they're faithful, patient, and easy to win over. XD
BL Dubcon: Angsty and Delicious
Looks like coercion, but it's really about healing. Smooth writing.
Shadow Guard Fans, Rejoice
Male leads who are shadow guards or assassins, BG, plus two BL novels I read ages ago: one with a shadow guard bottom and one with a switch couple
The Pile
A random collection of very personal reading impressions. It includes both BL and BG, with a relatively strong focus on gong-centered stories. Anything I have rated but have not yet had time to categorize is here.
The Fruit of the Banana Plant
1. As the title says, not sure how much it's been updated lately. 2. Just a collection of stories with male leads that I like.
Free Historical Danmei
Ancient Chinese BL, mostly top-focused stories. Great free reads, and the authors can all write.
Stories That Meet My Standards for Plot and Prose
I told you I lean toward tops, but you don’t believe me
Great Reads Outside the MCU
Includes historical stories, derivative fanfiction, Western fantasy, and more. I prefer serious stories. Recommendations are welcome too (I run out of things to read so quickly).
Right Up My Alley
They may not be perfect in every way, but something about them struck a chord with me. I’ve finished them or am following the updates.
Top-Tier Stories with a Dominant Male Lead
I love confident, assertive male leads.
A-Grade Great Reads
Great reads. The protagonists are so well characterized, and the writing is lovely.
Stories That Stay With You
Books that even someone who gets bored easily can keep following
Once in a Millennium, a Rare Encounter; One Look Back, and a Century Has Passed
Male lead on top. Damn it, they're all unfinished and abandoned!!! I wish we'd met when they were complete. Until we meet again, old favorites. Hope they get updated soon.
Favorite Power Couples from Back in the Day
Get out of here with the idea that a bottom only counts as strong if he's covered in muscle!
A Decade-Long Reader's Tastes
Mainly top protagonists, with some switches. I like everyone to have their wits about them. All are books I've read and can recommend. Please give them a try.
Some Favorites
I just like good writing
Great Reads
A bit of everything
BL Stories I've Treasured for Five Years
I've been reading steadily for the past few years and have come across so many wonderful stories. These are some of my absolute favorites, and I wanted to share them with everyone.

It's been more than nine years... I've been stuck in this trap for several years... Time is like water, and time changes. Xiaobai, will it still be the same story you had in mind when you fill in the holes in the future?
This is probably a punishment. Falling in love with a novel that I have been resisting for almost ten years, because the teacher said that he didn't know when he would come back to update again and waited hard [changed]
I'm still waiting... Teacher, I read this article after I finished Chasing Conglong. I didn't expect that I would read it for so many years... I chased Jiuchongjin in high school, and I'm about to graduate from college now🥲🥲🥲 I just hope I can see the ending in my lifetime...
It's hard to let go of my emotions in this life. When I saw this article, I was really shocked. Such a good writing style and character settings are not updated. I'm so angry [dog head]
Teacher Qijiaobai, I can delete all the little h-texts on my phone and ask you to update and complete them immediately [turned into] [clown]
Please update it. This story is really good. I really want to know the complete process and ending.
I have been lying at the bottom of the pit for ten years. I wonder if the story of Lao Bai and Bo Zi will be progressed after the next ten years.
Nine years. . . Nine years! ! ! ! Ants have been walking for ten years! Mrs. Mrs. Teacher, please come back and update soon [crying] [crying] [crying]
Ten years [changed], ten years ago I was a high school student, staying up late on weekend nights to secretly watch [changed], madam, can I see it in my lifetime? [Crying] [Crying] [Crying] [Crying] [Crying] [Crying] [Crying] [Crying]
