[Hurricane Polymar Fanfiction] Thorns of Time

"I will have no past and no future; no previous life and no life to come."

Epigraph

Countless ages pass, all for the sake of protecting you.

I reached out my hand to him. It lasted barely three seconds, yet felt as though I had crossed a distance of thousands upon thousands of years.

So near, and so far.

He said, "I have no heart. So I have nothing."

The hand he held out would never be warm.

But he never let go.

I said, "At least right now, you have me by your side."

Note:

1. This story strays a hundred and eight thousand miles from the original. There are mountains of headcanons, truly mountains, and the characters are often out of character.

2. I've barely read one-fortieth of the second installment, not one-fourth, so the original has almost nothing to do with this.

3. Please don't pester me for updates. It won't help.

Volume One: [Weariness of Life] Fate that repeats endlessly, an eternal cycle of reincarnation.

Time is forgotten, time is abandoned. We arrive at the final ending, and at the very beginning.

Gods who protect the four corners of the world, messengers who hunt the gods.

You were born from nothingness and chaos. No words in this world can describe your appearance.

Whatever you desire, I will give you.

Volume Two: [Plundered by Death] Time poured into you, life bestowed upon you.

Your true name is incomplete. The gods stripped themselves of their halos and fell from their thrones, never to return. They killed the gods.

A lone traveler bears witness to the same history, again and again, taking different roads to the same destination.

The old world is swept away by the flood, and a new world will be born from the flames.

But in this new world, you are gone.
