The ongoing story in my column, The Way She Can't Be Soothed, is a post-breakup reconciliation story. The main story is complete! See the blurb below~
Su Ming, granddaughter of a family with three generations of tea-making history, lives off her maternal grandfather's family alongside her single mother. Her daily tasks:
Look after her scheming grandfather,
play the innocent little rabbit in front of her uncle and aunt,
trade blows with her twin cousins,
and, worst of all, compete for men with her beautiful aunt, who is close to her in age.
Su Ming says the pressure is too much!
The Way She Can't Be Soothed
A post-breakup reconciliation story
1. The first time she met Liang Luo, he was bold and uninhibited. Among all the people in the world, he was the only one who made her heart stir.
She had feelings for him, and he felt the same, so she became his cherished darling.
Everyone thought her love wasn't pure, and that she was reaching above her station.
So she devoted herself to indulging him, walking on eggshells in their relationship.
But eventually, she grew tired and weary, and threw him away.
2. Liang Luo, the ideal man of everyone's dreams, was used to living carefree and doing as he pleased.
He thought women could be won over with a little coaxing.
Until his sweet, soft little girlfriend,
Gu Qiaoqiao, broke up with him.
His whole worldview came crashing down.
This woman was so hard to win back...
The day he learned she was going to enter an arranged marriage
was a late autumn night.
Rain poured down, and the wind cut straight to the heart.
Liang Luo stood at the gate of Gu Qiaoqiao's home,
watching her get out of his sworn enemy's car,
his gaze intense, words caught in his throat.
Gu Qiaoqiao brushed past him,
smiling sweetly, as if she hadn't seen him.
Watching her walk away, Liang Luo gave a self-mocking smile
and murmured pitifully, "I'm sick. I have a fever."
Gu Qiaoqiao paused, but didn't even look back.
Liang Luo steeled himself and stood there until dawn.
3. Right after the breakup,
Liang Luo used his drunkenness as an excuse to torment his assistant.
Assistant: "Mr. Liang, just tell me who you want me to call."
Liang Luo smiled hazily until his assistant finally caught on.
Assistant Zhou reached for Liang Luo's phone, but stopped halfway when Liang Luo's gaze burned into him.
With no other choice, he took out his own phone, his face full of misery.
He made the call, and before a second had passed: Sorry, the number you dialed is currently on another call...
Liang Luo sobered up at once, watching the last glimmer of hope go out.
Assistant Zhou, who had always been able to get a few words in with Gu Qiaoqiao,
had been blocked too.
Later, when it came to who had it worse, Liang Luo was sure he'd never lost.
He wanted her to have eyes and a heart only for him, just like before.
Sweet, soft beauty × overbearing jerk of a man
Is the male protagonist Pei Er? Someone once thought the Phaeton was a Passat, which made me laugh to death.
