[Stephen Chow Fanfiction] Starlight Beyond the Clouds

* This is a stalled work from 2014, now being picked back up. The plot direction and some of the setting have been revised. Chapter 21 conflicts with the later plot, so it has been temporarily locked.

* Once the whole story is complete, I will thoroughly revise the first twenty chapters, add new content, and correct historical inaccuracies.

* This story is free to read.

(The old blurb below has little to do with what follows in the story.)

Meng Geyun has always been bewildered by her transmigration. She has never understood why she ended up in Hong Kong at the end of the last century, even though she stayed for twenty years...

Though her appearance never aged, her heart slowly drifted through time, and the years had long since settled within her.

Slow to warm up, she never took the initiative to approach anyone, until a determined young man kept knocking at the door to her world, driving away her loneliness.

For the first ten years, she searched for a way home. In the next ten, she found herself wanting to stay by his side until they grew old.

There is always someone who makes you yearn for them in an unfamiliar world...

But alas, the haze must eventually lift, and the drifting clouds must part and go their separate ways.

When she opened her eyes and saw the ceiling of a dorm room that was both strange and familiar, she realized she had finally parted from him. Tears poured down her face...

I'm sorry. In the end, I still couldn't stay by your side until we grew old...

Note: The heroine, Meng Geyun, is an ordinary third-year college student. One night, while sleeping in her dorm, she transmigrates to Hong Kong in 1977, where she stays for twenty years. She accompanies Stephen Chow through his youth, his bit parts, and his rise to fame, remaining by his side through it all until they finally fall in love.

The romance is a slow burn, with the main focus on Master Sing's career and other Hong Kong stars playing supporting roles. Tony Leung Chiu-wai receives the most attention and is also a longtime friend.

The heroine doesn't enter show business. She runs a coffee shop and enjoys the occasional bit of leisure amid a busy life. Sometimes, she also serves as a sympathetic listener and inspirational mentor to Master Sing and Wai Jai.

Theme: Starlight is a dream, distant beyond the clouds.
