Setting:
Reborn into a new life, they still face the same trials and cannot escape the rise and fall of fortune. Yet, thanks to the memories, lessons, and regrets of their past lives, Yinzhen and Yinsi spend their new lives pondering and second-guessing everything, repeatedly testing one another. In the end, they confirm the feelings they have kept hidden from each other for decades. This time, decades pass in a flash. The strife is behind them, and the splendor fades, but beneath the palace lanterns, they have only eyes for each other, staying together and relying on each other.

Note: My knowledge of history is extremely limited. Although I've tried to consult the few books I have, many of the details are made up. This is my first time writing a story, and I just hope I can convey some of the thoughts and feelings I had about those people and that time while reading. The Eight-Four pairing really comes from my own fixation. I always want to believe there was still true affection amid that brutal struggle, and I keep thinking that Yinzhen must have suffered a great deal as an emperor during the Ase case. But history is history, and there's no changing it or imagining alternatives, so I'll put those thoughts in the story. I couldn't think of a title, so I went with this one because I was listening to Chiqing Si.
