Longing Turned to Ashes

She thought she didn’t love him, so why did her heart ache when he turned and walked away, leaving only his back in view?

He thought this was just another game of love, so why, when he heard her firm voice say, “I don’t love you,” and watched her walk away without looking back, did his heart get lost in a game that was never supposed to have anything to do with love?

She is quiet, while he is flamboyant. She is proper and reserved, while he is wild and carefree. Her love blooms softly like an orchid; his burns fiercely like a rose. How can two people from different worlds write their own fairy tale of love?

(This novel was tailor-made for the second-oldest girl in our dorm. Of course, it’s entirely fictional. I hope you like it.)
