[Gintama] Falling Cherry Blossoms

They met in early winter.

Everything was sealed in silver-white, except for the flecks of falling cherry blossoms on her red umbrella.

Her long pink hair was as vivid and wild as cherry blossoms in full bloom, carrying the elegant madness of the Yato clan.

She hated the fleeting lives of cherry blossoms, yet adored their beauty as they died.

"Mayonnaise, hand over your mayonnaise!"

Only then could she break free of her coldness and bloodlust, baring her teeth and claws as she shouted.

She said she was a monster, with nothing but fangs and claws. She couldn't kiss or embrace anyone.

All she could do was kill, hurt, and fight.

But in the end, she still fell in love with her "Mayonnaise."

Yet she was still just a fallen cherry blossom, destined to leave the branch and sleep soundly in the embrace of the earth.

"Captain, at least let me die as beautifully as a cherry blossom... Please!"

She was a Yato, unafraid of killing or death. But there was one person she couldn't let go of. He was her "Mayonnaise," after all.

"Mayonnaise, I'm sorry. I've made you all alone again."

"But I still love you... Samurai from Earth..."

Beneath the cherry tree, he raised his cup and drained the sake, its surface dotted with a few fallen petals. Two lines of tears fell softly, landing on the remaining blossoms...

This is a short story about Hijikata and an original female Yato character. The ending is set: SE. If that's not your thing, please head elsewhere.

The following is the heroine's character song, "Amazement," from the Elfen Lied OST.

The cover was made by Mi Ye from Mojiu's art shop~ I freaking love this cover! [Rolling around] Thank you so much!

Also, here's a link to my eternally unfinished project, The Information Broker Doesn't Act Cute. It's a One Piece fanfic, with Eustass Kid as the male lead.
