A Gintama Eulogy

Gintama: beneath all the joking and horseplay lies such deep sorrow.

Everyone has a painful past.

But it is precisely because of those heart-wrenching memories,

those past nightmares that haunt us through the night,

that we cherish the ordinary life we have today all the more!

That we can smile so serenely today!

We're only ordinary people,

neither especially great nor especially strong.

We simply follow our own bushido,

protecting the people who matter to us.
