The Conservation Effect (Mass Effect Fanfiction)

In a world where robots possess fully realized minds and people have bodies as powerful as robots, every intelligent being can casually tell a story or two about Commander Shepard. The dossier on your desk comes from a library in Orion that is currently up for auction. It records events in the life of this legendary figure after the war against the Reapers ended and before the expedition to Andromeda. The dossier was once listed for sale in the library's online shop for seven credits. After gathering dust for five years, the library went bankrupt, and you won it at auction bundled together with a pile of Asari fashion magazines. It was quantum-teleported to your desk. You can tell plenty of stories about Commander Shepard yourself, but this one seems unfamiliar. You're not particularly interested, but there's not enough time to play games on the way to the ship's landing in the Leo Nebula, and sleeping is too boring, so you yawn and open the first page. This is a plot bunny spawned by someone who was completely bewitched by BroShep's lats, collarbones, and abs while playing Mass Effect.
