(Bleach) Nothing but Longing

Xiangsi was reborn on this day. The man she had loved with all her heart for a hundred years was marrying another woman.

The perfect couple stood before her.

Xiangsi lifted her cup and drank a third of the wine, then watched calmly as the newlyweds drank from the same cup, their necks intertwined, and drained it together.

Her eyes curved into a smile, clear and bright. A radiant smile, as beautiful as summer flowers, lit up her face. "I wish you both a lifetime of happiness."

She had spent fifty years hidden away from the world for him, enduring every grievance and hardship. Now at last, she had the chance to turn away first and end this ill-fated bond.

Truly, may they be happy.

P.S. Don't let the blurb fool you. This is a lighthearted story, and the heroine doesn't suffer.
