No. 111 Wisteria Lane

Jijing Qinghe's Seven-Color Rainbow Series, Color Seven: No. 111 Wisteria Lane

[Opening]

I just ran into a man at the station. He had a buzz cut, a white tank top, a tiger tattoo on his arm, a cigarette in his mouth, and a murderous look on his face. He was on the phone when he suddenly yelled, "I'll kill you!" I jumped in fright. He shot me a glare, then kept shouting into the phone, "Fuck your mother! I made pork bone soup and braised goose, and you damn well went and worked overtime!…" That's when I noticed he was carrying several bags of vegetables in his other hand. Suddenly, I thought he was kind of adorable.

[Ending]

A friend who works at a cake shop said that around four or five this afternoon, a man with a gloomy expression, tattoos, gold chains, and combat boots walked into the shop and asked for a cake to be made on the spot. The other employees hurried to hide, but my friend bravely stepped forward and started spreading cream on a cake base. When it was almost done, my friend asked, "Would you like us to write anything on it?" The man mumbled in an extremely faint voice, "Please write 'I'm sorry'..."
