[Zetsuen No Tempest: Mahiro/Yoshino] Unreasonable

I can't take it anymore! Nobody try to stop me, I can't hold back! I have to start this fic to soothe my soul after staying up all night watching the anime, only to reach the final episode and lose all desire to watch any further! Damn it, there's face-touching in episode one, a confession and hand-holding in episode two, and in the flashbacks Aika-chan hints that she's Yoshino's girlfriend by saying, "The person who's best suited for Yoshino is Mahiro"! Damn it, the manga has been a straight romance from beginning to end, so why are you forcing bromance into it! Are you trying to attract fujoshi and make money?! If Mahiro and Yoshino don't end up together, I want the story to have a bad ending, preferably with the world destroyed and everyone dead! What am I supposed to do?! The blurb follows = =, This might be abandoned the day after tomorrow, so read at your own risk!!!!!! This is an anime overflowing with adolescent angst, and both the manga and TV version have their own strengths. What is reason? Mahiro keeps saying that Aika's death was unreasonable. The truth they eventually uncover makes her death reasonable. Reason and unreason are the two key words driving the plot. But! I have to say! Mahiro and Yoshino not getting together is the most unreasonable thing in this show!!! No matter how many times the world gets caught in the crossfire, if reason is the central theme (even though the actual theme is two trees fighting → →), shouldn't the story follow reason all the way through?! The little touches to the face, the way he easily forgives Yoshino after learning that he was Aika's boyfriend, deliberately driving Yoshino away for his safety so he won't get involved in the plan to save the world, constantly worrying about Yoshino's safety, and when Yoshino suddenly attacks him and snatches the magic tool during the battle against Samon, Mahiro's first reaction is to protect Yoshino when Samon strikes back... Damn it, I refuse to believe that Yoshino isn't the person Mahiro loves most!! Do childhood friends act like this? Even couples madly in love have misunderstandings and fights!
