[Dream of the Red Chamber] The Scenery of Old

<basefont size=4><font face=Fangzheng Kai Ti Simplified>Someone once asked me: in reality or fiction, who is the most perfect Chinese woman in your heart? Without hesitation, I answered: Lin Daiyu. The most beautiful appearance, the most delicate sensibility, the sharpest tongue, the most ethereal and refined literary talent, the noblest and purest character, and the most tragic fate. If I could transmigrate into Dream of the Red Chamber, I would have to ask for her hand before Lin Ruhai passed away. Of course, to ask for her hand, I would need to come from a scholarly family, be familiar with the classics and rites, know how to navigate the official career, yet still retain an innocent, childlike heart. And so Zhang Hui, the young master, setting out as the perfect husband tailor-made for Miss Lin, takes on the important mission of "breaking the old pledge between the wood and stone." </basefont></font> ==================My Dream of the Red Chamber fanfic, whether you call it fanfiction or an adaptation, is simply a way to indulge my fantasy of marrying the most perfect Chinese woman. This is a lighthearted wish-fulfillment story, entirely leisurely and carefree, with no worries about making ends meet. My adorable male and female leads and supporting characters just have to enjoy life as I arrange it: fall in love, make a little money, become minor officials, have a bunch of kids, and reach a Happy Ending! Character details: Male lead: Zhang Hui. Background: young master of a scholarly family. Important family connection: son of Lin Ruhai's maternal aunt's cousin. Goal: pass the imperial examination and get married. His only candidate for a wife: his distant cousin Lin Daiyu. Warning: This is a transmigration story that never explicitly says it's transmigration, and a modern person's thorough wish-fulfillment fantasy about the refined lifestyle of ancient scholar-officials.</basefont size=4><br></basefont></b> Theme: I love Lin Daiyu, I love Dream of the Red Chamber, and I love the elegance of ancient scholar-officials. Ultimately, writing Dream of the Red Chamber fanfiction is a way to soothe the regret I feel for the tragic fates of the women in the novel.
