Marriage Beyond My Control

Cheng Lejun says:

I have always wanted to write about a woman like this. She has everything everyone envies: beauty, intelligence, noble birth and a wealthy, powerful family, a handsome fiance, and friends who never abandon her. And yet she is unhappy.

In her unhappiness, she deceives herself into thinking that her misery is the price she must pay for what she has.

She endures in silence, and others think she is old-fashioned.

She is timid and cautious, yet others think she is too rational.

She is Cheng Lejun, my favorite character of my own creation.
