Fang Yu, the emperor. Mature and steady, and skilled with a spear.
Su Mu, the palace's performer. Eccentric and carefree, but a model of good behavior in front of Shui Jing.
Ji Yin, the palace's chancellor. A smiling schemer who usually uses his head rather than his hands. His martial arts skills are second only to the crown prince.
Lin Yetong, the palace's general. Hot-tempered, but not reckless.
Qiu Jingchu, the palace's imperial physician. Cold-faced but kindhearted, and not good with words.
Consort Yun, the palace's imperial chef. She cooks wonderfully, and probably has the best temper of them all.
