The Frontier Kingdom

My father is Emperor Guangwu, who restored the Han dynasty after rising from humble beginnings. My mother is Empress Guo Shengtong, the principal empress. I am the crown prince, entrusted with great expectations since I was in swaddling clothes. So tell me, how could anyone lose with such a perfect start? * Thanks for asking. Sixteen years as crown prince, all for nothing. I had to yield the throne to my younger brother, and now I'm being sent off to be the Prince of Donghai. Under the Han dynasty's policies for the imperial clan, all sixteen years of training as heir went to waste. From now on, all I can do is live comfortably as a prince of the realm, with nothing to do. This, this is what they call getting handed everything for nothing. There's no family estate for me to inherit, so I have no choice but to start from scratch. This is an old story I started years ago. I've completely forgotten the original plot, but I'll do my best to finish it. It's a lighthearted read. The story starts with Liu Jiang being deposed. His struggle to make his way may be fairly simple, and the rest is just a fun viewing experience, haha. It's probably a feel-good power fantasy, since I've forgotten how to write serious historical fiction, orz. (As for the protagonist's name, it's usually written as Qiang in simplified Chinese, but the history books should use the character Jiang. Based on Liu Xiu's reasoning for naming his eldest son, it should technically be a substitute character for "frontier," since the legitimate second son Guo Shengtong gave birth to at the time was named Liu Fu, whose meaning is quite clear. But for accuracy, I'll use the traditional character Jiang.) Theme: Wherever the sun and moon shine, wherever rivers flow, all is Han land.
