A Hundred Years Out of Sync [Bonus Stories and Short Story Collection]

A short piece written for practice after a break. I may add new stories when I get new inspiration, and might also post some brief follow-up snippets to completed works here.

"A hundred years apart, I endured this lifetime before meeting you." Lyrics from "A Century of Discord" by Pakho Chau

The feeling of falling in love is like a storm, sweeping through body and soul without warning, leaving you utterly defenseless.

1. "Crime and Punishment" (prequel to "The Breakup Caused by a Head of Garlic")

This includes many of the original ideas, so there may be subtle differences from the main story. This event takes place much earlier, when Yan Xin is not yet as mature as in the main story.

Life and death are no different.

Please, whatever you do, don't forget me.

Call me by my name properly.

Yan Xin's reunion with Yue Ji begins here...

"This time, I absolutely won't leave you alone again, Yue Ji."

2. "Do You Know That Person's Heart?"

"If deep devotion is a tragedy, it must end with death." From an essay by Jian Zhen
