[Hot Winter/Steve and Bucky] Chronicle of the Age of Gunpowder

Author's note: The author is a hopeless slacker. Anyway, this story is told from the perspective of Howard, Iron Man's dad. It tells the story of Captain America as Howard sees him, having grown up alongside Bucky from childhood. The old man Stark is a cynical, free-spirited playboy, yet he has a devoted side that belongs to one person alone, faithful until death. It also teaches the kids of peacetime to cherish the hard-won lives they have now. (Or something.) A note before reading: This story is set in an alternate world where, since the dawn of creation, men have been free to marry one another, and certain men can bear children. So it follows naturally that old man Stark and Bucky are in a family-arranged marriage. And I promise that this time Bucky won't fall off the train!
