The question of why I use "" instead of “ ” around dialogue is a bit of a headache. But here's an analogy that seems pretty apt to me: people who use “ ” are ordinary young people, people who use nothing are idiots, and people who use "" are artsy young people.

To write this story, I went online and read up on quite a few things. One of them completely overturned what I thought I knew: the real Sanada Yukimura in history was supposedly killed by some guy named Nishio Nizaemon while he was catching his breath at a temple, with a single sword strike.
