The Goofy Gamer God Isn't Home

· An "outside" installment in the series. · This is a short story. · It exists to separate the first book from the second so they can be read independently, while giving readers who want to know how they're connected the background. · This is a long-planned, wildly unexpected development. · I've had this idea since I added "Shen Wu" to the title of The Guard last year. If you're only here for the first book, be warned: turn back now. · The Emperor and his friends share nothing but pure friendship, really. · Gassersis x Fanelde. They're a great couple. Background and story · Background summary: · The Land of Beginnings: A dwelling place for those above the gods (or gods?). The highest visible plane, and His Majesty Rong Yun's "home." · The Supreme Law: The beginning of all beginnings, the source of all creation, the law of all laws, the supreme above all. · Rong Yun: An existence on the same plane as the Supreme Law. His true name cannot be spoken. He is commonly called "His Majesty" or "BOSS," and currently goes by "Rong Yun." · Gassersis: One of His Majesty Rong Yun's friends. His true name is "Nothingness." He is in charge of governing all planes, the First Executor. · The "Imperial Throne" in the Land of Beginnings had been vacant for countless ages before everyone learned that His Majesty wasn't the first emperor, and would be born as a human child. · His Majesty is awkward and a bit of a klutz, and he has a father and mother. · The founders and "elders" of the Land of Beginnings all agreed that it would be too embarrassing if the "young people" who eventually rose up from the lower planes learned that His Majesty had such an awkward personality. So... · To learn how to get along with his parents, and how to build harmonious relationships with them and his friends, His Majesty seized the opportunity to personally travel to one of the myriad planes, which was on the verge of losing balance, through a parallel-world gate, taking the name "Rong Yun" to handle the matter. His elders, friends, and other related people went along to that parallel world as well. · Story: · Gassersis, a complete novice at love, has ruined his own romance and needs his friends' help. · After His Majesty Rong Yun and his group return from the parallel world to the Land of Beginnings, his friends naturally step in to help. · And so, before His Majesty Rong Yun can even spend a quiet moment at home, he once again begins a new life that is "fierce and formidable" yet "hilariously scatterbrained," all while being gentle and considerate without even realizing it.
