This version of The Legend of the White Snake, like the previous mortal version, is based on a story I read as a child and remember vividly. By now, I only remember its general outline. Compared with the previous story, this version is hardly rare; versions of it can be found online too. Still, I wrote it based on my own hazy memories, as a companion piece, more or less.
I thought that since the previous story was about two mortals falling in love, I called it the "mortal version." This one is about a demon and a human falling in love, so I went with the rather "sensational" title "human-demon version." It makes a matching pair, and it also indulges my own naughty sense of humor, O(∩_∩)O~ Whether you say "human-demon version" or "demon-human version," it sounds pretty... well, you know.
