② Free BL Reads I’ll Finish Sooner or Later
They're all free, so you'd be missing out if you don't read them. Leave your recommendations in the comments, and let's support writers who create out of love! [List 2 is just for books I want to read; List 1 already has 99 books]
Free, Mostly BL, Completed, Version 2.0
Some are not under contract and tend to be quite long, so proceed with caution. I haven't read any of them myself.
A Traveler Passing Far Beyond the Green Hills
A rare find
Even Broke Readers Need Jinjiang, Part 2
Free reads I've picked up here and there
Historical Mystery and Crime Solving
Mystery and crime-solving novels I’ve read or am reading. I’m only sorting by genre, not by category.
When the Saintliness Urge Hits
Whenever my urge to be a saint kicks in, I come here for a little treat
Free Hidden Gems
Some pretty good free novels. I’m piling them up here for now; most are BL or have no CP. I’ll keep digging and write reviews little by little… (currently slacking off)
Historical Xianxia
Classical settings, historical romance, courtly nobility, xianxia cultivation.
Historical Danmei
Historical danmei
I Don't Know, But I Think It's Good
Mostly BL, with a few no-couple stories, a bit of everything. I add whatever I get really into, with some commentary along the way. May all the couples here stay together forever!
Whatever Comes to Mind
My extremely niche, bizarre tastes are no joke. I’m so starved for content that I’ll end up tearing myself apart. Top protagonist / GB / no-couple
Historical Fantasy
Who gets it?! I'm hopelessly obsessed with kneeling scenes in historical danmei novels!!
Reading List
Interesting books I've read recently
Recs: Wholehearted Approval
Very personal. For now, I'm judging them by four things: prose, themes, worldbuilding, and how much they resonate. They have to excel in at least one.
Male Protagonists, No Romance, Original and Derivative Works
So there is a limit to how many books a list can hold! (shocked) My tastes are all over the place: anime crossovers, wuxia crossovers, Marvel/DC crossovers, fantasy, Western fantasy... Pick and choose what you like~
Free Reads
Free BL Picks
All are completed, free BL stories I’ve read. Historical danmei, modern danmei, and all kinds of themes are covered. This list has 100 completed books. For more, check out the free BL picks on my profile, part 2.
A Little Roundup
Books other than those by P Da. Readers strongly recommend all of PP's books, so I'm not adding them to this list for now.
Free Reads, Finished or Currently Reading
Every author here writes exceptionally well. I’ll add their other works after I finish reading them. I don’t recommend derivative works or danmei here, and please don’t recommend them to me either.
Really Good
Really good
Mystery, Horror, and Thriller
Some have stronger plots, others focus more on romance. There's both BG and BL.
Great Early Completed BL Novels
BL stories I read a long time ago and still remember, mostly farming stories. Four stars means excellent; three stars means there’s something appealing about them. I don’t rate the rest.
Born to Farm
Stories centered around farming. Farming may not be the main plot, but crops absolutely must be planted.
Recommended No-Romance Novels
Novels I like. It's been a while since I read some of them, so I may not remember much.

2025.11.16, 9-Year-old seeds + 3 days to germinate. It's almost finished but not finished yet, so I don't have much thoughts. I really like the plot of these people sitting together and "fighting" to solve the case. The author is letting the characters talk and seeing the faces of all living beings. There is also a faint emotional line, whether you believe it or not, it is not there. The feeling of love ends with courtesy, and there is some taste even if you touch it carefully. It's wonderful.
When I was in high school, I followed the serialization of Zhang Gongan. Later, I bought the physical books of Zhang Gongan and Huangshu and brought them to the class. They circulated them to the whole class. At that time, others were surprised and laughed when they heard that I had brought this Huangshu. I couldn't react at first. The scholar in our class borrowed my copy of Zhang Gongan to read and copy the excerpts. I still remember copying the part at the beginning where Zhang Ping stood like a jujube tree at the back door of Lan Mansion. Over the years, I have been finding less and less interesting books to read. I found this book on a bookshelf in Jinjiang and reviewed it in two days. It is still so exciting when I read it again 🌈
I always thought it was bl, but it turns out there is no cp, but the case in large letters is really poignant, and I never get tired of it.
Really great article!! Every time I see Lan Jue, I feel like I'm feeling like a spring breeze! Each character has his or her own characteristics, and their speech and behavior are all rigorous and practical! A very nutritious book! It's really an honor to read it, thank you to the author!
It was a pleasure to watch. Every character is so vivid. I really like the descriptions of the characters.
Fortunately I read it late, as this book has been written for so many years!
I really like Mr. Lan and Mr. Wang!
I'm so good at writing. I'll read it again and again.
I come back and watch it again when I'm in a literary turmoil, and I get new feelings every time.
Reread it again. The last part is so exciting!
