What is love?
Jiang Xiaoyun: Love means giving Miao Er everything I can offer, without asking for anything in return or caring about the consequences.
Miao Jian (Miao Er): Love means hoping Jiang Xiaoyun loves himself just a little more than he loves me.
Jiang Xiaoyun's perspective:
The first time I met Miao Er, he was only nineteen, yet already known as the greatest swordsman in Jiangnan.
The second time I met Miao Er, the two of us joined forces to take down a group of martial artists who had raided a government post at night.
I said to Miao Er, "My name is Jiang Xiaoyun. The 'Xiao' is from 'dawn's river mist turns the city white,' and the 'Yun' is from 'a lone cloud drifts away at leisure.'"
Miao Er said to me, "Move!"
On the thirteenth day after parting with Miao Er, I walked into his courtyard, newly recovered from my serious injuries.
A cloth bandage covered Miao Er's eyes. Even hearing the footsteps of a stranger, he didn't panic. "Get out."
I couldn't help smiling. "My name is Jiang Xiaoyun. I watch the sky at dawn and the clouds at dusk. Walking or sitting, I think of you."
Faced with my heartfelt confession, Miao Er snapped, "Get lost!"
Miao Jian (Miao Er)'s perspective:
Jiang Xiaoyun is a very special person. He feels ashamed that his reasons for befriending me weren't pure, ashamed that he's older than me, and even ashamed that he loves me too much.
Before I met Jiang Xiaoyun, I always believed that "if a pie falls from the sky, it's either a hidden weapon or a trap."
After I met Jiang Xiaoyun, I was astonished to discover that while the sky might not drop pies I particularly enjoy, it really can drop a bowl of fish soup, rich in color, aroma, and flavor, out of nowhere!
A true hero keeps his word, follows through on his actions, and honors his promises.
A cheerful, chivalrous top with plenty of inner monologue who loves showing off in front of his beloved
A fierce, straightforward bottom who's cold on the outside but warm within, and loves watching his top show off
One-on-one romance, both each other's first love, happy ending. The main story is from the top's perspective. The top is five years older than the bottom.
The bottom does not become blind; there are other reasons for the blurb and the opening.
