Jiang Wei was dumped by his boyfriend of many years for an absurd reason. Heartbroken and furious, he went to the park to clear his head.

The moment he stood by the river, before he could even do anything, he was thrust into a terrifying, wage-slave-style live-action escape game full of anthropomorphic mutants. The game even divided players into interns and full-time employees! Fail to get promoted, and you would become mutant feed!

The game rules looked just like those of a legitimate job-search app. The terrifying game bosses weren't called bosses here, but supervisors. NPCs were called interviewers, and players were divided into different ranks, though they were called job applicants, interns, and full-time employees.

Clinging to the rule that cannon fodder who followed the protagonist were bound to survive, Jiang Wei followed the instructions of a colorful barrage of comments that might have appeared because he'd hit his head. He carefully played the role of cannon fodder, rationally kept his head down as an insignificant employee, and stuck close to Bai Ruo, who clearly looked like the chosen one.

The protagonist was great, but it would be even better if he stopped using Jiang Wei to scout ahead.

Jiang Wei had thought he could make it all the way through by keeping his head down.

But the further he followed Bai Ruo, the more alarmed he became.

Why was this instance so similar to a script he'd written before? Were horror games plagiarizing now? Get someone from management in here and pay the copyright fee first, will you?

Before he could find a way to deal with the copyright issue, an even worse problem emerged!

Why did this supervisor boss look so much like his ex, whose alternate personality had supposedly died after claiming to love him?

His ex was a movie star and award-winning actor! He'd announced his retirement and disappeared right after breaking up with Jiang Wei, but why was this awful third-rate horror game infringing on his face?

As a former hopeless romantic who'd been madly obsessed with him (and still was, really), Jiang Wei couldn't take it anymore!

The next day, Bai Ruo, whom Jiang Wei had decided was the male lead, watched in shock as his timid underling, who'd followed him everywhere, walked up to the boss, trembling all over (actually, with excitement).

Holding up a ring he'd somehow gotten his hands on, Jiang Wei said with an air of utter delusion, "I've forgiven you. Let's get back together."

Boss: "?"

Bai Ruo: "This isn't right, man, is it?"

The other players: "Is this how it's supposed to go?"

The NPCs: "Is this really what the script says?"

The comment barrage, which had thought Jiang Wei was about to kick off some high-octane action and had completely lost it: [I'm dying, folks... F in the chat for the streamer. Hope he gets back to normal soon.]

The boss publicly rejected this absurd case of workplace sexual harassment with an air of strict impartiality. In private, he expertly tapped on the window of a certain room that had been left open.

Jiang Wei was utterly confused. "What are you trying to do now?"

Lying there in despair, Jiang Wei spotted the familiar ring on the boss's hand and made his meaning clear: "I don't want to work hard anymore."

The boss smiled menacingly at the comment barrage. "If you don't want to work hard, then die." But the familiar ring on his hand caught the moonlight just right, gleaming so brightly it was impossible to look away.

Jiang Wei's mind worked in mysterious ways. He saw only the boss's lips moving and put on a coy act. "Do you want to kiss me that badly?"

The comment barrage, curious about what would happen next and unable to resist following along to persuade him to find someone better: [??? Recommend the boss back down and survive this one.]

A few things to know:

1. The top and bottom are exclusive to each other.

2. The bottom has a bit of a loyal-dog streak. You could say he thinks he's finally won over the god he worships. Basically, he's wearing some seriously rose-tinted glasses.

3. The top absolutely dotes on him. They're both completely smitten with each other.

4. The bottom is stronger in a straight-up fight; the top specializes more in strategy.

5. The real-world setting is after the apocalypse broke out at the end of the 35th century. A new class system has already been established.
