Synopsis
[Melancholy, love-struck powerhouse bottom with a secret identity VS scheming, theatrical, beautiful boss top]
(Brief outline needs revision; updates every other day.) Here's the blurb ^O^:
For an absurd reason, Jiang Wei's boyfriend of many years cruelly dumped him. Heartbroken, he went to the park to clear his head.
He had barely reached the riverbank, without doing a thing, when the next second he was thrown into a terrifying workplace-themed live-action escape game filled with anthropomorphic mutants. Players were divided into interns and full-time employees! Fail to get promoted, and you would become mutant feed!
The rules of this game were just like those of a legitimate job-hunting app. The terrifying game bosses weren't called bosses, but supervisors, and NPCs were called interviewers. Players were also ranked, though they were called job seekers, interns, and full-time employees.
Following the ironclad rule that cannon fodder who sticks with the protagonist is guaranteed to survive, Jiang Wei obeyed the instructions of colorful on-screen comments that might have appeared because he hit his head. He cautiously played the sacrificial extra, sensibly acting like an inconspicuous junior employee and sticking close to Bai Ruo, who was clearly destined to be the protagonist.
The protagonist was great, though he could do without using Jiang Wei to scout ahead.
Jiang Wei had thought he could coast along safely and survive to the end.
But the longer he followed Bai Ruo, the more uneasy he became.
Why was this dungeon so much like a script he'd written before? Were horror dungeons plagiarizing now? Someone from management, come pay the copyright fee first!
Before he could find a way to resolve the copyright issue, an even worse problem cropped up!
Why did this supervisor boss look so much like his ex, the one who'd said his other personality, the one who loved Jiang Wei, was dead?
His ex was a superstar actor! He'd announced their breakup, then quit acting and vanished, but why was this awful third-rate horror game infringing on his face?
As a former, and actually still current, hopeless romantic who'd been madly obsessed with his ex, Jiang Wei couldn't take it anymore!
The next day, Bai Ruo, whom Jiang Wei had appointed as the male lead, watched in shock as the timid lackey who always followed him trembled uncontrollably as he approached the boss. (He was actually excited.)
Holding up a ring he'd gotten from who-knows-where, he said in a way that seemed completely unhinged, "I've forgiven you. Let's get back together."
Boss: "?"
Bai Ruo: "This isn't right, is it, bro?"
The other players: "Is this how things are supposed to go?"
The NPCs: "Is this really what the script says?"
The comments, thinking Jiang Wei had started playing at a high level and completely losing it: [I'm dying, folks... Light a candle for the streamer. Hope he gets back to normal soon.]
The boss publicly rejected this outrageous case of workplace sexual harassment with a stern face, then secretly knocked on a familiar, unlatched window.
Completely baffled, he asked, "What are you trying to do this time?"
Jiang Wei flopped down in despair. Seeing the familiar ring on the boss's hand, he made his intentions perfectly clear: "I don't want to work hard anymore."
The boss smiled darkly at the comments. "If you don't want to work hard, then die." But the familiar ring on his hand caught the moonlight just right, shining so brilliantly it was impossible to look away.
Jiang Wei's train of thought took a strange turn. He only watched the boss's lips move and said coyly, "Do you want to kiss me that badly?"
The comments, unable to resist following along to see what happened next and ready to advise him to find someone better: [??? Suggesting the boss give in might survive this one.]
Reading guide:
1. Both leads are each other's only partners.
2. The bottom has a bit of a loyal-dog streak. Think of it as finally winning over the god he worships. Basically, his rose-colored glasses are incredibly powerful.
3. The top is extremely doting, and both have very strong feelings for each other.
4. In terms of combat power, the bottom is stronger. The top leans more toward outsmarting his opponents.
5. The real-world setting is after the apocalypse began at the end of the 35th century. A new class order has already been established.
6. Keep your eyes on the main couple. This is a bottom-focused story, with no switching or pairing them with anyone else. ദ്ദി◝ ⩊ ◜.ᐟ
Theme: Get the rules in place, and promotions and pay raises won't be a headache ❤️🔥
