[A story born from a random idea]
On a clear day, Tim found a projection watch in the laboratory.
According to the researchers, they had used it to contact people in another dimension. But after Tim and the others wrecked the place, they could no longer reach anyone, and the watch was out of power.
An alien invasion again? Tim was full of doubts.
"How do you charge it?"
"Every so often, it sends a question. Just answer it."
Strange thing.
Still, he could try communicating with it. At worst, he could figure out how much damage the alien had caused.
With that in mind, Tim decided to test it himself.
He carried the watch with him, keeping an eye out for whatever the alien inside might want.
But he was a little surprised to find that this so-called alien didn't seem to be what they'd described.
Sometimes it asked how to crack Morse code. Sometimes it asked how to take down an enemy in three seconds. After a while, it even asked how to disable a surveillance system... More often than not, it asked how to calm itself down.
"I want to survive, but I'm so tired," it murmured to him.
Faced with a plea like that, even though he'd initially suspected the other party meant trouble, Tim would do everything he could to help and comfort it. He couldn't ignore a cry for help just because he'd assumed the other party was a bad person, could he?
A little while later, Tim saw that the watch was almost fully charged.
At the same time, headquarters had discovered something major and called them in.
[We've discovered that some people have recently been secretly taken to another world and forced to kill one another…]
They put a projector on, and Tim realized it seemed to bear the same logo as the laboratory he'd found.
He sat up straight.
He saw a child struggling to deal with zombies, stumbling into a surveillance room.
The thin child stared blankly at the surveillance system for a moment, then struggled to pull a walkie-talkie from his pocket.
"Hello, Little Red Bird..."
"I want to know how to set the surveillance footage to show what happened the day before. Could you help me again?"
"…"
Tim stiffly opened the watch. Everyone in front of him was staring, eyes wide. Even his old man looked at him disapprovingly. His brothers seemed to be enjoying the show, while Superman just looked curious.
"Yeah, of course."
He did his best to keep his voice calm. "First, stop the bleeding in your hand. I taught you how to bandage it, remember?"
"Of course!"
Damn it!
What kind of alien was this? It was just an unlucky kid! And he was underage!
Little Red calmed himself and began examining the surroundings shown by the projector.
Now he was determined to help the kid clear the game with all his heart.
1. A way to vent stress, a stream of wild imagination, with very severe OOC, orz
2. Updates whenever I feel like it. Just an idea to practice with.
3. The kid is 16 from the start. Since he seems underdeveloped, people think he's even younger.
