Yuri has a special ability: she can see people's thoughts and control their actions.
She was born with this ability and gave it a name: telepathy.
She considers herself someone who cherishes life. She has lived underground her whole life and has never seen the sun.
But she does have one obsession.
Yuri firmly believes that, one way or another, she has to see with her own eyes what the enormous fireball described in books actually looks like.
She never expected the opportunity to come so soon, though she isn't too happy about the way it came.
It was a sudden kidnapping.
When Yuri opened her eyes, she found herself aboveground, the place she'd always dreamed of.
There was sunlight, spacious rooms, and a group of gifted children called "Matches" and "Sparklers."
The "Matches" were children with telepathic abilities like hers.
The "Sparklers" had a wider variety of powers: telekinesis, time reversal... and even invisibility.
Here, all the children followed one ironclad rule.
"A Match's orders are absolute."
The children called this place "Stability City."
The children each had their own duties, and every adult in charge had responsibilities to fulfill as well.
Yuri was no exception, of course.
At last, she'd seen the sun she'd longed for, and made her first friend.
Yuri thought this place wasn't bad.
Maybe she could live here forever.
Before long, Yuri became one of the "Matches" and started carrying out missions with the other children.
Under the Matches' command, the children sabotaged an alien race's election, blew up a satellite city on the moon, and even stole vital military secrets from alien nobles.
Then one day, one of the children never came back.
The administrator said his work was done, and the adults had sent him back underground.
But what Yuri saw with her own eyes was a far more cruel truth.
From that moment on, Yuri began to doubt.
Maybe this place had never been safe, and had never been somewhere that could be called "home."
"I'm leaving this place," Yuri thought.
"I have to leave right now."
[Reading Tips]
1. One-on-one romance, happy ending, and an extremely slow-burn romance.
2. Multiple viewpoints, a huge ensemble cast, and a complex world.
3. Includes disturbing content such as death, injuries, and gore.
4. The female lead is strong, but has no golden finger. This is not a wish-fulfillment novel.
5. Daily updates. I'll post a notice if I need to take a day off. (I have chapters saved up ^ ^)
Theme: The more friends you have, the more paths you can take.
