Rong Zaisi is, quite literally, a fool.
And yet, in an age of fierce rivalry, she meets a lord who visits her three times to recruit her. After an exchange where they seem to be talking at cross purposes, he is amazed by her talent, convinced she must be Zhuge Liang reborn.
Rong Zaisi has little in the way of opinions of her own.
When her mentor tells her to go earn some credits in mathematics, she muddles along after her lord to conquer the realm.
"The enemy is at our gates! We're short on armor. Strategist Rong, what should we do?"
After thinking it over three times, Rong Zaisi suggests: If we're short on armor, why not fight bare-chested?
It's absurd, but her lord is a walking stat monster.
On the day of battle, the sun beats down mercilessly. The enemy, trapped in their armor, grows dizzy and faint.
Meanwhile, their lord charges into battle bare-chested, swinging his weapon with wild abandon and cutting down all before him. The whole army's morale soars.
The soldiers cry out as one: The strategist saw through the enemy's plans!
After the battle, Rong Zaisi looks guiltily at her injured lord at the victory banquet. She decides she's hopelessly useless, so she resigns and seals her gold, hoping to give her position to someone truly talented.
Since gaining his strategist, her lord has never lost a battle, and his dream of ruling the realm is within reach. He has a thousand things he wants to discuss with his beautiful strategist by candlelight. But when he sneaks into her tent at night, he finds the bed empty.
The lord is devastated. The lord panics. The lord chases his strategist beneath the moon.
Then he sees the enemy commander holding his strategist's hand and speaking in such saccharine tones that it's unbearable.
"You have the talent to serve as a king's chief advisor. Why debase yourself by serving a nobody? Ah, your hand is so cold. Why not come back with me and share my bed? I promise you won't feel the slightest chill."
The lord: ?
The lord: You scoundrel, trying to steal my genius strategist?
