Like so many people in Gotham, I had a broken family: an abusive dad and an alcoholic mom. Then someone beat my dad to death, my mom vanished without a trace, and I was left all alone in the world.
Just as I was thinking that, debt collectors kicked down my front door.
If it hadn't been for Batman, I would have died that night.
Batman saved me. After that, I became his fan, like the countless Gothamites he'd rescued. I bought his merch, collected his photos, waited up at night hoping to catch a glimpse of him, and even started a fan forum for him. In short, he became an indispensable part of my life.
So when he knocked on my window on the night that changed my life and asked if I wanted to be his Robin, I said yes without a second thought.
He gave me a scarlet smile.
“Good boy,” the Batman Who Laughs said to me.
I only learned that name later.
By then, I had a new name, too: Robin... Dog.

“I'm not actually crazy,” Caleb sighed. “Why won't any of you believe me?”
“Then take that thing off your neck first.”
Caleb touched the chain around his neck and let out a string of delighted giggles.
“Ha. Ha. Ha. That's hilarious,” he said sweetly. “Father, is this a test? Have you thought up another new game?”
The person across from him sighed wearily, gazing in pain at the boy kneeling at his feet.
“...Could you at least stand up when you talk to me?”

Tips:
1. The blurb is provisional and may be revised later. (Still, when I typed this title, I thought it was already outrageous enough. I can't even imagine what this story is going to be like.)
2. The protagonist is clearly not mentally well.
3. The protagonist is a Batman fan and hates everyone else, probably.
4. The main text is in third person.
5. The timeline, plot, and everything else have been heavily altered. OOC warning.
Theme: Your choices determine your fate.
