A fiery, tempestuous beauty on the bottom x a cold-faced, secretly devoted husband on top
The day Chi Yange was acknowledged by the Chi family, he thought he’d finally found a home.
Instead, before he could even sit down for a family reunion dinner, they packed him up and sold him to the Xiao family’s eldest son to be kept as a canary.
Chi Yange: ? Fine, you self-righteous people. :)
He refused to quietly play the pretty ornament. After half a lifetime of wandering, he wasn’t about to accommodate anyone. Every day he picked fights with his hapless husband, waiting for the day Xiao Wu couldn’t take it anymore and kicked him out.
Chi Yange smashed things. Xiao Wu silently cleaned up, his face dark.
Chi Yange threw a tantrum. Xiao Wu came over with a cold expression and warm milk to soothe his throat.
Chi Yange called him “a heartless robot who deserves to die alone.” Xiao Wu lowered his eyes, warmed Chi Yange’s feet, and murmured, “Mm.”
Chi Yange: ? Is he a masochist?
Xiao Wu was mature, wealthy, and a force to be reckoned with in the business world. Chi Yange couldn’t stand how Xiao Wu never lost his temper around him. It was far too disarming.
But the more spoiled and unreasonable Chi Yange acted, the more Xiao Wu indulged him.
He told Chi Yange not to overthink things, while spending lavishly and treating him like royalty.
Chi Yange: He’s definitely a masochist.
Until one day, Chi Yange knocked over his robot husband’s notebook. On it were strange, command-like phrases he couldn’t understand.
First: Whatever my wife says is right.
Second: If my wife gets angry, comfort her.
Third: If my wife insults me, listen quietly.
Tenth: I must never lose Chi Yange again.
Xiao Wu thought he’d had a long, drawn-out dream.
In the dream, Chi Yange went from lively to silent, from spoiled to quiet, and finally died coldly in front of him.
For decades, they had never truly understood each other. The feelings Xiao Wu only realized he had, far too late, crashed down on him in the final moments of Chi Yange’s life, when nothing could be done.
When Xiao Wu woke, he found he’d returned to more than a decade earlier. It was the day he and Chi Yange got married.
In the study, Xiao Wu felt Chi Yange’s warm, youthful body as he kissed him tenderly, whispering dirty talk against his flushed, trembling ear.
Chi Yange’s legs went weak. Xiao Wu swept him into his arms and settled him on his lap. Feeling the weight of what was there, Chi Yange gritted his teeth and shuddered.
“What are you afraid of?” Xiao Wu’s voice was muffled against his neck. “This time, you have your husband. I’ll take care of everything, no matter what.”
