Introduction to Crossing Demons
There are two things Li Xiaoyao hates most in this life: the Mount Shu Sect and demons.
Unfortunately, he is both.
His half-demon blood has earned him nothing but scorn, and the Mount Shu Sect took him in only to keep him under surveillance. The only one who ever showed him warmth was the snake demon Liu Ruyan, sealed away a hundred years ago. She taught him how to cultivate his breath, took a sword for him, and was finally struck by heavenly lightning and cast into the abyss before his eyes.
He thought she was dead.
Until the Myriad Demons Blood Pearl awakened in his chest, and he was reunited with her on the edge of the abyss.
"Senior Sister, turn back."
"Turn back?" Liu Ruyan's fingertip traced his chest. "Your father's soul is locked inside this pearl, and you want me to turn back?"
The Mount Shu Sect wants him to kill demons and attain enlightenment.
The demon clans want him to offer up the Blood Pearl.
And she asks him just one thing:
"I raised you. Which side will you choose?"
Li Xiaoyao drew his sword, but pointed its blade at Mount Shu.
"I choose you," he said.
Then he added, "But I'll save you."
Above the abyss, a human and a demon interlaced their fingers.
Behind them lay a bottomless cliff. Before them stood countless troops.
And the Blood Pearl beat like a heart:
Save demons, save people, save yourself.
If good and evil exist in this world, who says they get to decide what they mean?
